Mechanicsburg Area High School
Alumni Association
Hall of Fame
On January 15, 2007 the Mechanicsburg
community lost one of its most dedicated
Wildcat supporters, Dick Wevodau. Dick was
born in Mechanicsburg and graduated in
1962. He was an employee of BCA Employee
Mgmnt Group in Lemoyne before becoming
a loan officer with First Bank and Trust in Mechanicsburg, later PNC Bank, from which
he retired.
Dick was a founding member of the
Wildcat Foundation, serving for many
years as Board Member and Secretary. As
a tribute to Dick, the Wildcat Foundation
is dedicating their current $2,490,000 –
“Strengthening Our Schools and Community”
Capital Campaign in his memory.
His commitment to Mechanicsburg included service in countless organizations including Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg, Mechanicsburg Museum Association, the Simpson Public Library, Cub Scouts, Mechanicsburg Planning Commission, Mechanicsburg Optimist Club and, most importantly for the Alumni Association, our Treasurer for over 25 years.
Dick was always willing to volunteer his services to all the organizations and clubs he belonged to. His friendly smile, great humor and vibrant personality will be remembered by all who had the opportunity to meet him and work with him.
