Mechanicsburg Area High School
Alumni Association
Hall of Fame
Jack Houck, a member of the 50
Year Class, was nominated for
this award by his class. His
most notable achievement
in high school was being
selected to attend both
the District and State bands
his freshman through senior
years as a trombone player.
He also sang in the Glee Club.
Jack attended the University of Michigan
and graduated with both a Bachelor of Science
and Masters of Science in Aeronautical and
Astronautical Engineering. He was selected to
be a member of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering
honor society.
He went to work for the Douglas Aircraft
Company in 1961. That company merged with
McDonnell Aircraft to become McDonnell Douglas
and then merged with Boeing Aircraft. Initially he worked on missile defense programs which
led to being selected as one of the authors of the
Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT) in 1972
with the Soviet Union on anti-ballistic missile
defense systems. He continued managing defense
and intelligence programs for 22 years. He finished
his engineering career as the risk manager for all
of Boeing’s satellite programs. He retired after 42
years with basically the same aerospace company.
After being exposed to Remote Viewing as an
intelligence gathering tool at the SALT talks, he
became interested in research on how the human
brain and mind work. Jack is the originator of
Psychokinesis (PK) Parties, and is recognized as
one of the foremost authorities in the world on
the subject. He has given 375 of these workshops
for over 18,000 people since 1981, and maintained
an extensive database providing documentation
of people’s ability to exercise “mind over matter”.
Jack has also researched phenomenon such as
Remote Viewing, Firewalking and correlation of
electroencephalogram (EEG) measurements with
various types of high performance individuals.
Many of the papers documenting his research
are found on his website: www.JackHouck.com.
He is now concentrating on technologies for
alternative healing.
