Bob Mentzer has been a professional musician for more than 20 years. At a young age, he entertained diners several nights a week at a local restaurant in Mechanicsburg, PA, and played at wedding receptions, dinner parties, and club meetings.
After college, he formed Sentimental Mood, a jazz standards duo with a female vocalist. It was during this time that Bob sharpened his skills in music selection, arrangement and transcription, and live performance.
In 1994,
Bob joined the Lenny Kay Revue as a keyboard player and vocalist. Over the next decade and several personnel changes, he established the unique sound which is the core of the band today.
Bob currently sings lead vocal in the band, plays keyboard and keyboard bass, handles sound reinforcement, arranges, selects, and sequences tunes, and assists with marketing and administration of the band.
His musical strengths include jazz vocal standards, ballads, swing, blues, oldies, motown, soul, and latin.
